Description
Snowbasin's story gives this design a different starting point: movement through a mountain rather than a single iconic summit.
The composition is divided visually into three flowing sections, inspired by the distinct character of Strawberry, Needles and John Paul. Wide-open terrain gives way to more concentrated lines and steeper formations as the eye travels upward, creating a natural progression across the artwork.
A restrained Olympic reference appears through the geometry of the descending star lines rather than through logos, medals or literal sporting imagery. The idea is to capture the speed and scale associated with Snowbasin's downhill courses while keeping the artwork sophisticated enough for an interior setting. Snowbasin hosted the downhill, Super-G and combined events during the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Games, and the historic courses remain part of the mountain today.
The lower portion remains comparatively open, allowing the celestial structure to breathe above the mountain silhouette. This gives Snowbasin a more expansive, topographic character than the tighter canyon composition used for Telluride or the vertical emphasis developed for Jackson Hole.
It is ultimately a mountain portrait built around terrain variety, Olympic history and the broad Wasatch landscape — not simply another constellation with a resort name attached.
