At the base, a small adobe structure carries a row of protruding wooden viga beam-ends along its rooftop, the actual construction detail found on real adobe buildings throughout the region. A tiny roadrunner sprite dashes along the base, low and fast, and near the building's doorway a small string of red pixel chile peppers hangs in a ristra — a common, specific piece of New Mexican household decoration, not an invented flourish. The steep terrain above cuts down from a rugged high peak, sharper and more exposed than the softer New England pieces in the collection. A skier sprite works its way down through it. Scanlines run over the whole desert-mountain scene, quiet and dry as the air up here.
